| The York City Gospel Choir is a lively, friendly and supportive community of around 40 members from all walks of life. Entry to the choir is by audition and you can apply by filling this Form.
As well as applying to audition, you may use the form to request to join in for 1 or 2 rehearsals and see if we are what you are looking for. Once you have decided that you would like to become a regular part of the choir, you can speak to the Musical Director or the Choir Director to arrange an audition.
Your audition will last about 10 minutes and will be conducted by the choir’s Musical Director and Choir Director. You will be asked to sing one song of your choice in any style, without accompaniment (a verse and chorus is fine). In most cases you will be informed of the result straight after your audition.
Choir rehearsals are held on Thursdays, 7.30pm to 9.30pm, in Clifton, YO30
In line with the Gospel music tradition, most of the songs performed by the choir have a Christian theme. Members must therefore be comfortable performing songs with Christian-based lyrics. |
